Conquer the Clouds: Mount Toubkal Trek

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! This isn’t just a hike; it’s a high-altitude mission to the roof of North Africa.

Leaving the vibrant souks of Marrakech behind, you’ll journey deep into the heart of the Atlas Mountains. You’ll trade the heat of the city for crisp mountain air, ancient Berber trails, and towering rock faces. This is a true test of endurance and spirit, where every step upward is a step taken alongside trekkers.

At a staggering 4,167m, the air is thin, but the adrenaline is high. Pushing through the final ascent is a gruelling challenge, but standing at the peak, with the Sahara Desert shimmering on the horizon, is a moment of pure, cinematic triumph. This is where legends are made. Are you ready to submit?

Frequently Asked Questions

You don’t need to be an experienced hiker to join the MSN trek, as Mount Toubkal is a non-technical climb that requires no special mountaineering skills. While the steep, rocky terrain and long summit day are physically demanding, the group maintains an inclusive community pace where no one is left behind.

As a Muslim-led network, we prioritise the spiritual needs of our community alongside the physical challenge. Our itinerary is carefully designed to account for prayer times throughout the day, and while on the mountain, our guides will help identify clean, quiet spots for Salah

Altitude sickness is a factor that can affect any trekker, regardless of their physical fitness level. Our experienced guides are trained to monitor participants for early symptoms of altitude sickness and will provide constant support throughout the journey. We strongly advise staying well hydrated and prioritising rest at the base camp refuge before the final midnight push to the summit.

Coming prepared with the right equipment is the best way to ensure your safety and comfort during the trek. The most critical items are a pair of sturdy, waterproof hiking boots that have been “broken in” before the trip to avoid blisters. Because temperatures can drop to 0°C or below at the summit, even in summer, layering is essential: bring moisture-wicking base layers, a warm fleece, and a windproof outer shell.

Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for this trek and must be arranged before you fly. Standard holiday insurance often excludes activities above 2,500m, so you must ensure your policy specifically covers high-altitude trekking up to 4,200m. Your policy should also include “emergency medical evacuation,” as it is a vital safety requirement in the remote Atlas Mountains.
