City to Coast: MSN National Ride
Get ready for an epic day in the saddle! Leaving the busy streets of London behind, you’ll journey through the scenic “Garden of England” toward the famous oyster town of Whitstable. You’ll trade the city traffic for winding country lanes, rolling hills, and expansive coastal views. This is a true test of endurance and community spirit, where every mile pedaled is a mile shared with a team of motivated riders.
As we approach the shoreline, the legs might be tired, but the adrenaline will be high. Pushing through the final stretch into Whitstable is a rewarding challenge, but rolling into the harbor with the salt air in your lungs and the sea on the horizon is a moment of pure triumph. This is where memories are made.

Fundraising
In partnership with Blackstone Charity, this cycle carries a vital mission: a £200 fundraising target dedicated to the Sudan Emergency Appeal. As Sudan faces one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, every mile pedalled helps deliver life-saving food, clean water, and emergency medical aid to families displaced by conflict.
To recognise this effort, participants who reach their fundraising target before the event date will receive a free, exclusive MSN gilet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do participants need to be experienced cyclists?
No, this ride is open to various ability levels, but a baseline level of fitness is required. While the route is mostly paved and manageable for beginners, participants are encouraged to complete a few long-distance training rides beforehand to ensure they are comfortable in the saddle for several hours.
Is there support provided during the ride?
Yes, the event is organised with a community-first approach. Ride leaders from the Muslim Sports Network will help manage the pace and ensure the group stays together. There are typically designated stopping points for rest, hydration, and to perform Salah (prayer), allowing participants to balance their physical efforts with spiritual reflection.
How does the fundraising for Sudan work?
Each rider commits to a minimum fundraising target of £200, which goes directly to the Blackstone Charity Sudan Emergency Appeal. These funds provide life-saving essentials, such as food packs, clean water, and medical supplies, to families and children displaced by the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
How do participants return to London?
Return transport is fully included as part of the event package. Once the group reaches the finish line in Whitstable and celebrates the completion of the ride, dedicated support vehicles or pre-arranged transport will be available to take both the participants and their bicycles back to London. This ensures that riders can focus entirely on the 60-mile challenge without the stress of navigating train schedules or bike carriage limits after a long day in the saddle.
Is training provided for the London to Whitstable ride?
Yes, comprehensive training is provided to ensure all participants are fully prepared for the journey. To help riders build the necessary stamina and confidence, the Muslim Sports Network organises a weekly training ride in the lead-up to the event. These sessions are designed to gradually increase mileage and ensure everyone, regardless of their starting point, is ready to reach the coast together.
